Katara Quick Lineart

Was in the mood to do some good old lineart and did this in about a couple of hours. The inspiration for this piece came from a bit of an unusual place, since I was looking through my oldest Photoshop files lying around in my computer drive.

This one in particular was from 2008, the year I started digital painting by buying my first drawing tablet (Wacom Intuos 4 if curious). I am a very long time fan of the Nickelodeon TV show Avatar and I really liked the character designs, especially Katara. My old sketch had her doing this exact pose, but since I was not very experienced with drawing or using a tablet, it looked very raw, and unnatural. However, I really liked the S shape as well as the composition of the piece, so I decided to keep those aspects while drawing it how I would do it today. Pretty happy with how it turned out.
